Georgia Ann mULDROW & LINAFORNIA

(Spring 2020)

One of the first guests we ever had was at the top of our list. Georgia Ann Muldrow came onto the scene in the early 2000’s as the Beat Scene started to take shape with parties like Sketchbook, Root Down and of course, Low End Theory. Georgia was a pivotal producer in these scenes bringing a very spiritual jazz and funk approach to beat production. Rooted in her upbringing (daughter of jazz guitarist Ronald Muldrow), she brought her sound to Stones Throw to release the now iconic, Olesis: Fragments of the Earth, which caught the ears of Miss Erykah Badu. They went on to coin the term Woke, producing and appearing on the song Master Teacher, changing the vernacular of pop culture forever.

Linafornia, is the next wave of producers to carry the torch for LA. Cutting her teeth at Low End Theory as a resident, a friendship with the legendary Ras G and a sisterhood with Georgia Ann Muldrow, Lina has crafted a truly intentional & funky blend of hip hop and electronics.

In this interview, we speak on metaphysics, intention and legacy with these queens of the scene.
