In the aftermath of the Detroit Riots and displacement of the automotive industry (their main export) to the suburbs, the re-building of Detroit centered around the creation of one of the most important music genres to  exist, Detroit Techno. 

The original architects of this music were The Bellville Three (Derrick May, Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson) and Underground Resistance (Mad Mike Banks, Jeff Mills and Robert Hood). Of course the second wave of this brought more innovators, including one of the most well known Carl Craig. 

In this interview we are honored to talk to Jeff Mills aka The Wizard, who left UR to create the necessary Axis Recordings and create numerous experimental projects rooted in techno, including film scores, orchestral reinterpretations, magazine project and collaborations.
