In his 98 years on Earth, the cosmic maestro,saxaphonist,  Marshall Allen continues to be the bandleader for one of the most innovative and fearless big bands in Jazz history, The Sun Ra Arkestra. As a member of the Arkestra since, 1958, Marshall took the leadership role when the legendary Sun Ra passed away in 1993. 

Touring the world regularly, the Arkestra has continued to spread the message of Astro-Blackness Mythology and remain the music touchstone for the sonic foundation of Afrofuturism. 

In this interview, he is joined by Arkestra member, saxophonist, Knoel Scott, who lends added perspective to the legacy of Ra and Marshall.
