The musical partnership of Louie Vega and Kenny Dope Gonzales, can be easily compared to Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff (Philadelphia International), Chad Hugo and Pharell Williams and The Mizelle Brothers, in regard to output, consistency and high quality productions. 

Changing the landscape of not only the NY House Music sound but dance music as a whole and continue to do so. Coming from New York’s Latin, Hip Hop, Disco and Freetyle scenes, this duo knows no boundaries when it comes to innovation and avoiding formulas for too long. Working with everyone from Donna Summer to George Clinton, Masters At Work will forever be the magical sound of what NYC dance music is. 

In this interview, we discuss the history, process and inspirations behind many of their various projects. There was only an hour and we only scratched the surface. The interview also includes Mike Weiss owner of one of the original NY house labels, Nervous Records.
